Which electric vehicles can I use Faraday with?
Faraday is compatible with the majority of electric city cars such as Zoé, e-208, i3, Leaf, enabling long journeys to be made with a small battery designed for everyday use, as well as light commercial vehicles such as Master, Jumper and Partner.
Do I need to modify my car?
Adaptation is very simple. All you have to do is install a hitch, which is invisible on a daily basis. This installation will be taken care of for the first ambassadors of the solution. This connected hitch can also be used to tow a standard trailer, thanks to the removable towball, which is often very practical. It's 2 in 1!
What's the price compared with fast freeway charging?
Our service is at the same price as fast charging on the freeway, and without the waiting time for recharging, or the stress of finding a working charging station.
What about safety?
We have subjected Faradays to the most stringent controls: passenger safety is even improved with our solution. In fact, the combination of a medium-sized car and a Faraday means that less battery power is carried in the vehicle, compared with a large SUV. What's more, the Faraday can act as a crashbox in the event of a rear-end accident.
Can I use it for vacations?
The Faraday is the perfect external towed battery for long vacation trips. You can set off with a full trunk and 4 passengers, and keep on plotting your route.
Is a Paris-Nice race possible with a Zoé?
For a Paris-Nice trip (930km), you can use two Faradays. All you need is two minutes at the station to exchange an empty Faradays for a recharged 60kWh one.
Is it really that easy in the reverse market?
FAR-A-DAY has developed and patented a unique solution enabling this towed external battery to be reversed, with no impact on driving. Here's a demonstration on one of our prototypes (before design improvements!).
How can you be sure of being served, even on busy days?
Reserving the Faraday ensures its availability whatever the traffic conditions. To model requirements, we built a digital twin of long-distance journeys (> 200km) in France over an entire year, working on a database of 4 million long-distance journeys recorded over 13 months.
The simulation above shows the density of Faradays leaving Paris on 2 different Saturdays of the year, from midnight to midnight. The main lesson is that Faradays follow their customers: to the mountains in winter and to the coast in summer (for simplicity's sake!).
This reduces the number of Faradays to be supplied. What's more, after two or three hours' driving and an hour's recharging, the Faradays is ready to serve a new customer. Finally, on the busiest days, an electric truck can convoy 48 Faradays (who board autonomously in 20 minutes!) upstream of the flow of cars in just a few hours, so that they can serve new customers who left later than the first.
